北山宏光 (Hiromitsu Kitayama)は、2025年12月に株式会社ポニーキャニオンと株式会社TOBEの共同音楽レーベル「RED ON (レッド オン)」へのレーベル移籍を発表。本作は、その「RED ON」からリリースされる第一弾作品となる。表題曲の「ULTRA」は、北山宏光 (Hiromitsu Kitayama)自らが作詞を務め、大切な人への真っすぐな想いを綴った心温まるラブソング。出会えた奇跡、同じ時代を生きる運命、そして「誰かじゃなく君のために歌う」という強い決意、一人一人の存在の尊さや何気ない日常こそがかけがえのない宝物であることに気づかせてくれる一曲。また、子どもから大人まで、幅広い世代に共感してもらいたいという願いも込められている。通常盤はカップリングに「カップリングA」「カップリングB」を収録。歌詞ブックレット封入。
