Plot : Sendo Aichi is a timid boy in his third year of middle school. He had been living his life looking backward rather than forward, trying not to stand out. However, he had one thing that kept him going the "Blaster Blade," a card from a card game that was given to him when he was little. That card is the reason why he begins to engage in Card Fights, something that changes his life drastically. The name of the card game is "Vanguard." The game takes place in a different planet called "Klay," and due to a never before seen play system, it becomes popular throughout the world...

【カードゲーム×コミック×アニメ×ソーシャルゲーム】 トレーディングカードゲームを中心とした、壮大なメディアミックスプロジェクト、遂に始動!! アニメ内に登場するカードと現実のカードゲームが完全にリンクした、究極のカードゲームアニメーション第1巻。 先導アイチはちょっと気弱でクラスでも目立たない中学三年生の男の子。常に後ろ向きな毎日を送っていたアイチだったが、一つだけ心の支えがあった。それは子供の頃にもらったあるカード。そのカードがきっかけでカードファイトを始めた彼の日常は大きく変わり始める。カードゲームの名前は「ヴァンガード」。ヴァンガードの面白さに魅せられたアイチは、カードファイトを通して沢山の仲間たちやライバルたちと出会う。そんなアイチには、心に決めた一つの目標がある。それは「櫂トシキ」というファイターと再び闘うこと。アイチにとって、櫂は自分を救ってくれ、カードゲームへと導いてくれた先導者 (ヴァンガード)なのだ。アイチはヴァンガードの腕を磨くため、今日も全力で走り続ける。憧れの存在である櫂と闘い、認められるその時を夢見て――。
