人気TVアニメ『遊☆戯☆王VRAINS』の新OPは、これまでシンガーとして、そして多くの舞台やミュージカルでハイブリッドに活躍してきたアーティスト・KIMERU作詞によるアツいロック・チューン! 前OP「go forward」に続く今回の楽曲「calling」は、作品のストーリー展開と強く導きあった進化と深化を感じさせる1曲。作曲・編曲は前作同様、気鋭のサウンド・クリエイター、Yockeとのタッグによるもの。カップリング曲では作詞もYockeが担当し、ライブで盛り上がりを感じさせる、こちらもアッパーなロック・チューンに仕上がった。 DVDには「calling」のミュージックビデオを収録。
