CITY POP on VINYL 2022 対象商品6タイトル(2nd Press)をアンコールプレス! 南太平洋の美しい海をテーマに、細野晴臣、鈴木茂、山下達郎が書き下ろし作品を提供した、Sound Image Series第1作。細野晴臣は南国感溢れた2曲に加え、YMOのデビュー作『イエロー・マジック・オーケストラ』に収めた「コズミック・サーフィン」の原曲をこの作品で初披露した。山下達郎はサーフィン系のシエスタ・ミュージックとオールディーズ調のコーラスを織り交ぜたポップ・インストを、メドレーに仕立てた「ノスタルジア・オブ・アイランド」、「キスカ」では浮遊感溢れるクロスオーバー・サウンドを提示。鈴木茂はトロピカルなファンキー・インストを3曲収録している。その他豪華参加メンバーは、林立夫、村上秀一、高水健司、浜口茂外也、斎藤ノブ、佐藤準、大村憲司、徳武弘文、土岐英史。ジャケット写真は浅井慎平。オリジナル発売日 1978年5月1日。復刻アナログ盤は、世界的名匠バーニー・グランドマンのカッティングによるクリア・ブルー・ヴァイナルで再プレス!
