MOTHER2

I bought the Mother 2 CD recently and I must say I am incredibly happy with it. The quality of the packaging is amazing and the booklet is really awesome. The list of songs shows the songtitles in Japanese, but the areas in the game where they take place (i.e. Twoson, Winters) are in English. Very nice is the included "map" of songs, where a line is drawn between each song. There is also the artwork, which is less stellar in my opinion, but works really well with the kind of experience Mother 2/Earthbound is. The music itself is ordered as you might come across them in the game, which is very nice and works really well. I would have loved to see Paula's Theme, the Runaway Five and Porky Means Business on this CD, but those are the only real omissions. The battle music, which as you know are all somewhat similar, have been combined together into one big mix at the end. Nevertheless, the original sound and feel of these themes is persevered very well. I would have liked to hear more of them, but I am insanely happy with what I got. I think it is needless to say how amazing the music of areas like Winters, Threed, the Deep Darkness (Cursed Jungles) and the end credits are, so obviously, if you like Mother 2/Earthbound, you owe it to yourself to get this album ^_^ I'm very happy to have been able to support the creators of Earthbound with this buy, as getting the game itself would sadly prove somewhat difficult. This purchase was definitely worth my money and the CD is now one of my proudest in my collection~

This one is also what I'd call a must for Mother 2 (Earthbound fans). Not only because the music is directly from the game, but because there are epic songs in the end, which are called "PSI Mixes", and with all of the tracks combined together, be sure that it's worth the price. Although some songs could have been there (Gigyas' battle, anyone?) I'm not saying it's not good, because that would be telling a lie. Every Mother 2 fan should be able to appreciate this album.
