The young Aida is played by Susanna Branchini, a rising star in Italy; the brave Radames by Walter Flaccaro; and the vicious Amneris by Mariana Pencheva of Mezzo. The production is directed by Luchino Visconti's granddisciple, Franconi Lee. The gorgeous stage and costumes seen in high-definition are overwhelming. Included is a Japanese-language commentary by Koji Yoshida, which includes a musical score, a detailed synopsis, a human correlation chart, artist profiles, an introduction to the opera house, and more.
