ブリティッシュ・ロックの歴史にその名を刻んだ名ギタリスト、ポール・コゾフがFREE解散後結成したバックストリート・クローラーのデビュー作、遂に紙ジャケット化+HQCDフォーマットで発売! 過去何度も紙ジャケット化されているが、そのたびに完売し、中古市場でも優良カタログとして人気のFREEの諸作品、ポール・コゾフのソロ・アルバムそして、コゾフの死後バンド名をクローラーと改めた後の作品は紙ジャケット化されているのに、ずっと忘れ去られていたポール・コゾフ生涯最後のバンドの2作品が紙ジャケットで発売決定! 2作品とも英国発売盤のジャケットを再現したE式シングル・スリーヴ+日本発売時の巻き帯を再現! 両作品とも海外ではCD化されているが、今回の発売ではHQCDフォーマット採用。1975年発表のデビュー作『バックストリート・クローラー』は英国ロック・マニアには馴染みの深いテリー・ウイルソン・スレッサーをヴォーカルに抜擢し、よりファンキーなロック・スタイルを打ち出した作品。ポール・コゾフを前面に打ちだすと言うより、バンド・アンサンブルを重視した作風から発売当時はFREEの再来を期待したファンの支持を得るに至らず、大きな成功を収めるには至らなかったが、2014年の今となっては、このコンパクトなファンキー・ブリティッシュ・ハード・ロック・サウンドが魅力的に聞こえる、逸品となっている。
