Normally, I carry a decent amount of equipment such as effectors and mixers to do live dub mixes, but here it was a DJ set. However, I thought it would be uninteresting for me as a DJ to play only songs that I had once completed in my mind, regardless of whether they had been released or not. So, during the two days leading up to the flight, I recorded dub mixes of various songs, burned them onto CD-Rs, and brought them with me. After returning to Okinawa, I listened to the CD-R again and found it to be rough in many ways, but I thought it was good, including the roughness. I decided to distribute it. That is "Island DUBPLATE for Tokyo 2021". Then, the years passed by, and it was 2024. And then, in 2024, we received a proposal to make a record of it. That's great! It's great, but there are some songs that are not good enough to be made into a record. The distribution and the record are different. I chose songs from the CD-R and overdubbed A2 "Ayahaberu" with a flute solo by my friend MAKI TAFARI, A4 "Turubaimun" with AKANMIMAN's toasting. B1 " Kuduchi Behshi" was overdubbed with noise and synths with spring reverb. A3 " Pacific Dub " is a remix of Yoshimichi Ishigaki's " Key Stone ", which I personally think is one of the best reggae songs in Okinawa's history. Dub Season" is a dub mix of "Shiki Kuchisetsu", a collaboration with Yukino Inamine, another ally.

2021年東京、ハリクヤマクの曲だけでDJをするという珍しい機会があった。普段だとエフェクターやミキサーなど、まぁまぁの量の機材を運んでライブ・ダブミックスをしているんだが、DJセットときた。しかし、リリースの有無に関わらず、自分の中で一度完成した曲だけをプレイするのはDJをやってて、自分が面白くないなと思った。そこで、フライトまでの2日間、色々な曲のダブミックスを録音し、それをCD-Rに焼いて持っていったのである。沖縄に帰ってしばらくして、そのCD-Rを聴き返したら、色々と荒いなと感じながらも、それ含め良い!と思い、配信することにした。それが『島DUBPLATE for Tokyo 2021』である。それからまた月日は経ち、2024年。なんとこれをレコードにしてくれるという話がきた。最高だ! 最高だけど、レコードにするには、惜しい曲や物足りなさがある。配信とレコードとでは訳が違う。一発録りの2ミックスだから、重ねるしか無いと思った。CD-Rから曲を選び、A2 "Ayahaberu"には盟友MAKI TAFARIによるフルートソロをオーバーダブ。A4 "Turubaimun"にはAKANMIMANにトースティングしてもらった。彼にとっては初めての録音だった。B1" Kuduchi Behshiはスプリングリバーブを叩いたノイズやシンセをオーバーダブ。また、レコード化のために新しくダブミックスも録音した。A3 "Pacific Dub"は個人的には沖縄レゲエ史上最高の曲、石垣吉道の"Key Stone"をリディムを作りかえダブミックス。B4 "Dub Season"はこちらも盟友、稲嶺幸乃との共作である"四季口説"をダブミックスしている。
