「10年にひとりの逸材」 テレビ朝日新人シナリオ大賞【史上最年少受賞作】をドラマ化!! 川崎皇輝 (少年忍者/ジャニーズJr.) ドラマ単独初主演! 大東立樹 (ジャニーズJr.) とドラマ初共演で映像化困難な意欲作に挑む! ――ひき逃げ事故に遭った高校生・山村陸 (川崎皇輝) は数日後、病室のベッドの上で目を覚ました。その直後、同室の患者2人――高校教師・桑部辰郎 (鈴木浩介) とベテラン声優・川口修吉 (平泉成) に話しかけられ、困惑する。というのも、陸は事故のせいで意識障害、いわゆる昏睡状態に陥っており、修吉は3年、辰郎は1年以上、同じ状態だったからだ。"目覚めた"といっても身体を動かすこともできず、3人が意識下で会話をしていることは誰も気づかない。にもかかわらず、辰郎と修吉は病人とは思えないほど陽気で、陸は彼らの明るいトークに面食らう。ところが翌朝、陸にとってショックを受ける出来事が起き、陸は自らが"死にたくても生かされて、生きたくても死ぬかもしれない"という危うい状況に置かれていることを痛感する。※川崎皇輝の崎は立つさきが正式表記です。
