BOX第2巻。出演はレギュラー陣にシャチハタネームのCMでお馴染みの大野しげひさ、「キーハンター」で人気を博した大川栄子など。全51回の中には、笠智衆、ハナ肇、なべおさみ、柳生博、玉川良一、犬塚弘など豪華なゲストも多数出演。ドラマの内容は、もう一度「K-100」の運転席に立ちたいという元機関士の老人(笠智衆)の新聞記事を読んだ鹿児島の少年が、廃車寸前だった小型機関車「K-100」を水陸両用の蒸気機関車に改造し、「K-100」を走らせ老人の住む夕張まで行き、老人の願いを叶えようとする。しかし、出発直前に怪我をしてしまい、その少年に代わって大野しげひさ演じる、伊賀山紋太が鹿児島から夕張まで「K-100」と旅をする物語。もちろんその道中にはハプニングの連続が、紋太とK-100を待ち受ける。当初、夕張までの片道(2クール)で番組は終了予定だったが、あまりの人気に急遽2クール延長され、復路は返還直後の沖縄まで旅をすることになった。全51話のうち、第26話から第51話までを収録。24Pカラーブックレット封入。
