Tetsunosuke is an aspiring young man (who is fifteen, despite what his build otherwise suggests), waiting to gain enlistment into Kyoto's elite swordsmen police patrol troop, the Shinsengumi. A chance meeting with a mysterious helper sees to it that he has a chance to duel against Okita Souji, the young Captain of the First Troop, in order to finally fulfill his dreams! Tetsu's long journey of vengeance for his parents thus begins. Well researched and aptly portrayed, the anime certainly invites us to look at the historical Shinsengumi from a fresh, new angle.

Description
Produced by Gonzo Digimation ("Last Exile," "Sentou Yousei Yukikaze"), it's a historical action anime set in mid 1860's, around the period where the chaotic Edo era was coming to an end. 15-year-old Tetsunosuke's will power is put to the test when he decides to join Shinsengumi, a police troop with a strict samurai code of honour, in order to avenge his parents.
