日本を代表する青春エンターテインメントの金字塔として愛されてきたあの名作が、ついに劇場アニメ化!! 日本アカデミー賞新人俳優賞を受賞した経歴を持つ北村匠海と近年活躍目覚ましい芳根京子の、日本を代表する若手実力派俳優二人が夢の初共演かつW主演! さらに、1988年に公開された実写版『ぼくらの七日間戦争』で中山ひとみ役として女優デビュー&初主演を飾った宮沢りえが、"2020年の中山ひとみ"役として再登場! ――いつもひとりで本ばかり読んでいる、鈴原守。話し相手といえば、同じ歴史マニアが集うチャットのメンバー。平均年齢還暦越えと思われるその場所で、今日もメンバーの一人が、恋に悩む守にからかい半分のエールをくれた。片思いの相手は、お隣に住む幼馴染の千代野綾。しかし綾は、議員である父親の都合で東京へ引っ越すことを迫られていた。しかも、いきなり一週間後。「せめて、17歳の誕生日は、この街で迎えたかったな」。やり場のない綾の本音を聞き、守は思い切って告げる。「逃げましょう・・・っ!」
