An expanded edition of the Rolling Stones' 1966 masterpiece album appears. In addition to the latest sound sources of all tracks of the album faithfully remastered from the vintage master of the UK original MONO master, related songs, sessions, and outtakes are included. In the fall of 1965, about ten original songs were created at a recording session at the RCA studio during their fourth US tour. Immediately announced as the album "Could You Walk On The Water?", it was never released due to controversy over the title. Therefore, in March of the following year, "Under My Thumb", "Lady Jane", "Paint It Black", and "Out of Time" were newly recorded to complete the album "Aftermath". With consecutive hits "Satisfaction" and "Get Off of My Cloud", the Stones became the top British band after the Beatles, and this was the first album composed entirely of original songs. The founding leader Brian added color to the Jagger and Richards songs by playing diverse instruments such as sitar and marimba. It became the foundation for the mid-period Stones sound. Especially, the UK original edition, which contains 14 tracks, became an unprecedented long album of 53 minutes. However, it was released two months earlier than the US edition, and the UK version, which should have been the original, had an unfortunate past of being discontinued when the ABKCO remaster became the global standard specification in 1997.
