伝説の名歌手たちの歌声を新たな装いで。戦前にミス・コロムビアという覆面歌手としてデビューした松原操は、明治44年 (1911年)3月28日に北海道小樽区で誕生した。古賀政男、古関裕而、江口夜詩、竹岡信幸、万城目正などの作品を数多く発表している。東京音楽学校で学んでいるため、芸術的な歌謡曲も上手く歌いこなしたが、映画主題歌「旅の夜風」の大ヒットのように、哀調のメロディーには魅力ある。ミス・コロムビアの全曲集のCDは、昭和40年代に発売されたLPを復刻したものが存在する。また生誕100年のときには霧島昇とのCD全集が発売された (昭和59年[1984年]に霧島・松原の追悼LP全集を復刻したもの)。だが、それらは作品の氷山の一角であり、埋もれた流行歌のSP盤が少なくない。今回、生誕110周年を記念し、従来のCDでは収録されてこなかった素晴らしい名曲を紹介したい。
