Shamisen player Hiromitsu Agatsuma, who continues to perform on the world stage and has explored tradition and innovation for 25 years, releases a solo 25th anniversary album. Based on his belief that "tradition is to be continued along with innovation," this work was completed through collaborations with next-generation performers as a challenge to "connect to a new era." The newly written track "YUGEN" by South Korean composer Jung Jae-il, known as a "genius of visual music" for his work on Academy Award-winning film "Parasite" and popular drama series "Squid Game," deepens the cultural friendship with Agatsuma in this year marking the 60th anniversary of Japan-Korea normalization. Other participants include world-renowned artists such as taiko master Eitetsu Hayashi, Tsugaru-shamisen performer Sho Asano, cellist Dai Miyata, and koto player LEO. The album builds a new sound world where tradition and modernity resonate through "sounds connected to the future."

世界を舞台に活躍し続ける三味線プレイヤー・上妻宏光、伝統と革新を探求して25年。ソロ活動25周年記念アルバムリリース! 三味線プレイヤー・上妻宏光が、ソロ活動25周年を記念したアルバムをリリース。本作は、「伝統とは革新とともに、繋ぎ続けること」という信念を軸に、次世代奏者たちとの共演を通して、"新たな時代へ繋ぐ"という試みにより完成した作品。アカデミー賞受賞作『パラサイト 半地下の家族』や人気ドラマシリーズ『イカゲーム』等の音楽を手がけ、"映像音楽の天才"と称される韓国の作曲家チョン・ジェイルによる書き下ろし曲「YUGEN」は、日韓国交正常化60周年を迎える今年、上妻との文化的親交と友情をより深める作品となり、和太鼓の第一人者・林英哲や次世代で活躍が目覚ましい津軽三味線奏者・浅野祥、チェロ奏者・宮田大、箏奏者LEOといった、国内外で活躍するトップアーティストが参加。ジャンルを越えた共演が織りなす"未来へ繋ぐ音"で伝統と現代が響き合う新たな音世界を構築している。
