[Machine Translation] The ultimate performance by Hisashi Inoue and Yukio Ninagawa! The play is a musical drama starring Takaya Uekawa about the life of Hiraga Gennai, one of Edo's greatest eccentrics! The series of plays based on Hisashi Inoue's early masterpieces by director Yukio Ninagawa has finally reached the big time (!?!). Originally published in 1970, this is the life story of Hiraga Gennai, a genius of the Edo period known for inventing the "elektron," the "day of the ox," and the "catch copy. Gennai was rumored to be an eccentric despite his unbridled talent. The story unfolds through a comedic battle between the two sides of Gennai's character, the "front" and the "back" sides. The cast includes Takaya Uekawa, making his first appearance in a Ninagawa production, as Gennai in the front, and Masanobu Katsumura, an integral part of Ninagawa's productions, as Gennai in the back. The cast also includes Saki Takaoka, Kosuke Toyohara, Tomoe Shinohara, Tsutomu Takahashi, Keita Oishi, Ryoko Tateishi, and Naomasa Rokudaira, all of whom are full of personality. Music is by Naoyuki Asahina of "The Knight in the White Night" and "Caligula. The best staff and cast have gathered to finally revive this great work that has been said to be difficult to perform. The stage is filled with songs, dances, word play and other hilarious elements that only Hisashi Inoue could create. What will happen to the "front and back battle" between Kamikawa and Katsumura? A new legendary musical drama with a hearty laugh will finally be released on DVD!
