[Machine Translation] Debut album by Mitsuaki Katayama, a jazz drummer from Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, who later worked as Bison Katayama. 1974 he moved to Tokyo to study under Motohiko Hino, and played in the groups of Kichirou Sugino and Hidehiko Matsumoto. This album was released on Johnn's Disk before Katayama moved to the U.S. in 1985. 後にバイソン片山として活動した宮城県気仙沼市出身のジャズ・ドラマー、片山光明のデビュー・アルバム。1974年に上京し日野元彦に師事、杉野喜知郎や松本英彦のグループに参加するなど活躍、本作は片山が1985年に渡米する前にJohnn's Diskから中山英二に続くリーダー・アルバムとして発表された。アグレッシヴなドラム・プレイで古くからダンス・ジャズ・クラシックスとしてDJに人気の高い「初飛行」、BBEのコンピレーションに収録された「未知のポイント」をはじめ杉野喜知郎のピアノ・プレイが光る「アリゾナ・ハイウェイ」などパワフルな和製ブラック・ジャズの傑作として再評価されている。SACDハイブリッド、紙ジャケット仕様。録音年: 1979年
