曽根麻矢子のバッハ・シリーズ総決算。輝かしい「ゴルトベルク変奏曲」再録音!! 曽根麻矢子にとって、ベストセラーを記録したワーナー盤(1998年12月)以来、10年ぶり2度目の「ゴルトベルク変奏曲」の録音。この間に、6年連続12回にのぼるバッハ作品連続演奏会を経験することでバッハに対する理解と愛着をいっそう深めた曽根ならではの、端正にして深いバッハ。プロデューサー/エンジニアには、ハルモニア・ムンディやアストレで「長岡鉄男外盤A級セレクション」を連発したニコラ・バルトロメ氏を起用。10年前の録音では、フレンチ・モデルを使用した可憐な音色が魅力だったが、当盤は「平均律」で使用した超大型ジャーマン・タイプを使用。
