Sakura Wars Super Kayou Zenshu(music collection) - Shinpen(new version) Hakkenden

The cd starts the new era of the Super Kayou Shows. First of all, sadly no more Sumire. Secondly there's more of a focus on the ensemble and not the leads or rather leading duet. Third, the shows are based on literature; in this case, one of Japan's most popular tales "Nansou Satomi Hakkenden" This cd sort of goes back to its Hanagumi solo routine. All of the girls get a solo, except for Orihime which sucks since she plays one of the more important Dog Warriors. She does get a solo in the musical though. There's no duet this time, which is a first but does offer a group song that more than makes up for it. The cd follows the trend of having a nice mix of different musical styles from a Broadway musical number to a traditional Japanese festival song. Sakura, Dandy Boss (who gets two songs) and surprisingly Iris really stand out on this cd. This is, for the time being, my favorite soundtrack and I consider one of best soundtracks ever. For some reason, whenever I listen to this cd, I get in the mood for Christmas (you'll know why when you hear some of the songs) Along with Arabia no Bara and Kaijin Bessou, I definitely HIGHLY recommend buying this soundtrack.
