1948年より開催されている「エクサン・プロヴァンス音楽祭」。オペラを中心に数多くの演奏会が行われる夏の風物詩です。1998年からは音楽祭に伴い「アカデミー」を開設、若い演奏家たちのマスタークラスや、創作オペラ、実験音楽などの刺激的なワークショップが実施され、新しい才能が発掘される場となっています。ALPHAレーベルはこのアカデミーとコラボレーションを行っており、定期的に若い才能を見出していますが、2006年にアカデミーに参加したアンナ・ステファニーもその一人。彼女は早い時期からベリオのフォークソングに興味を抱き、この作品をベースにしたコンサートを企画していました。今回、素晴らしい「ラビュリント・アンサンブル」との共演で実現したレコーディングでは、ベリオとラヴェル、ファリャの作品を室内楽伴奏版で演奏。ベリオが要求する多彩な歌唱も含めた「言葉とイメージの融合」が図られた新感覚の作品として表出されています。【演奏】アンナ・ステファニー(メゾ・ソプラノ)/ラビュリント・アンサンブル(室内楽アンサンブル)
