Superstar [CD+DVD]

I was delighted to receive this CD/DVD a day before it's actually released. It was a very pleasant suprise! ^^ I was even more delighted to see that it was nicely packed and free from any defects. This was a much-awaited Japanese single from Tohoshinki after their very successful comeback album (Why) Keep Your Head Down. It was something much-awaited that didn't disappoint. Like in their "Why" album, the songs Superstar and I Don't Know focused on the strength of these two performers while working out of their confort zones, challenging themselves in a new genre, thereby showcasing an evolved Tohoshinki. If "Why" gave you that Pop-Rock feel, "Superstar" and "I Don't Know" is electro-pop. The fast tempo will make you unconciously tap your feet with the beat. The lyrics are stuck to your head just after listening to the song once and because of that, it makes you want to listen to it more. It is also worth noting how Yunho, who normally hits the lowest notes in their past songs is now singing 2-3 octaves higher. Changmin continued to hit the highest notes but this time, instead of screaming it, he is now singing it. There's a moment in Superstar where Changmin hit a high note and then an octave higher and then again in one breath flawlessly. Hearing those in the audio, one can't help but anticipate live performances of these songs. Kudos to the lyrist and arranger of the songs. Add Yunho and Changmin's ever evolving talent to the mix -- these are songs that I will untiringly play over and over and over again. Tohoshinki continues to live up to it's name -- This album "Superstar" is proof of that. The title of the single is even worthy of their stature. A must-buy for Tohoshinki and non-Tohoshinki fans alike!
