I used to listen to this album way back in the early 1980's & I always thought it was very good. After not hearing it for twenty years or so I just had to order the SHM version & my original opinion hasn't changed a bit. In fact the SHM version sounds even better than I remember this album sounding almost thirty years ago.'Over The Top' has of course the late great Cozy on drums but also features some other excellent musicians such as Gary Moore, Jack Bruce, Don Airey, & Max Middleton. It is an all-instrumental album and has a flavour reminiscent of 'Blow By Blow' from Jeff Beck. Indeed one of the tracks is dedicated to Jeff and if you are into serious rock music I can't recommend this album highly enough. I'm so glad I ordered it before it went out of print on this site. It brought me back to a time of great musicians and great musicianship, something that seems to be a lost art these days.
