I enjoyed the other review of this Platinum title. Have been listening to the normal SHM-CD and the Platinum version for the last week or so and found that they are quite different and both versions very worthwhile in your collection. The regular SHM is a little brighter in the top end and the vocals a bit more edgy. The Platinum is easier to listen to overall and the vocals are silky. However the SHM regular version has slightly more impact in the bottom end and oiverall more weight to the balance. It was like listening to two different versions and guess what...they are!! Some of the flat file Platinum disks are just a little bit too bright and lacking in weight (such as Exile On Main Street)so I hold my breath each time one arrives in the mail. Check my comments on "Dire Straits" and "Communique". They are pretty much the same as you see above for this title and that means they have all been treated with the same process.

PLATINUM SHM CD !!! Incredible fantastic transparent sound.!!! It seems that Mr. Mark Knopfler and his guitar came out from the speakers.I bought Love Over Gold Platinum and normal SHM-cd and both have incredible quality sound, but Platinum version has something more. I hope that all Pink Floyd discography will be issue on PLATINUM or SHM cd.!!!
