Christmas no Yakusoku 2009

"Christmas Promise 2009" is the "legendary episode" remembered as one of the program's finest projects in its history. The program's ambitious content, including this "22'50''," was highly acclaimed and later won the Excellence Award in the Television Entertainment Program category at the 36th JHoso Bunka Foundation Prize. 『クリスマスの約束2009』は、番組史上屈指の名企画として語り継がれる"伝説の回"である。当時最多となる20組33人のアーティストが集結し、番組のハイライトとなる22分50秒に及ぶ大メドレーを披露した。「いよいよメインイベントです。前からずっとやってみたかったこと。今年のクリスマスの約束は思い切ってそれをやることにしました。でも、それはさらに多くの人たちを巻き込んでいくことになります。それではこれまでの経過をまとめたので、それを見てください。」この言葉に続いて企画実現までのドキュメンタリー映像が上映され、その後、本編となる『22'50"』が披露される。世代やジャンルを超えたアーティストたちがひとつになり紡ぐ圧巻のパフォーマンスに、小田自身も感極まって涙を流し、会場は大きな歓声と拍手に包まれた。なお、この『22'50"』をはじめとする番組の挑戦的な内容は高く評価され、後に第36回放送文化基金賞 番組部門 テレビエンターテインメント番組優秀賞を受賞。『クリスマスの約束』の歴史を語る上で欠かすことのできない、まさに伝説の一夜となった。「『22'50"』――その感動を、あらためて体感してほしい。」
