Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, Japan (October 3, 1995)King CrimsonFor live audiophile sound puristsThis double CD captures the band's second night at the Koseinenkin Kaikan. Compared to the previous evening, the musicians sound noticeably more aggressive and confident. The highlight is the bone-crushing performance of “THRAK” and “B'Boom,” where the stereo imaging perfectly separates Bill Bruford’s drums (left channel) from Pat Mastelotto’s (right channel). Sourced from the original DAT tape, the Japanese remastering pushes the low end to its limits, making Tony Levin’s heavy bass vibrate in the mix. A total treat for live audiophile sound purists.

Nakano Sun Plaza, Tokyo, Japan (October 3, 1995)King CrimsonA key cornerstone of the seriesThis release presents the definitive audio version of one of King Crimson’s most celebrated concerts. This exact show at Nakano Sun Plaza served as the foundation for the official “Live in Japan” video release. The musical tapestry is woven flawlessly: the transition from the ferocious “Red” to the melancholic “One Time” showcases the lineup's phenomenal dynamic range. Rare live improvisations from that evening are included as a bonus.

Nakano Sun Plaza, Tokyo, Japan (October 6, 1995)King CrimsonThe second night at Nakano Sun PlazaThis release captures the second night at Nakano Sun Plaza, which carries a completely different mood than the video-recorded previous night. The musicians have completely shed any stage tension, delivering a powerful set rich with free-form improvisation. “The Talking Drum” is pushed to a primal frenzy here, featuring exceptionally aggressive solos from Fripp. Sourced from the original DAT tape, the audio sounds pristine, perfectly capturing the venue's acoustics and Pat Mastelotto's intricate percussion.

Hitomi Kinen Kodo, Tokyo, Japan (October 10, 1995)King CrimsonA true audiophile gemThis release brings the listener back to Tokyo, straight to the stage of the Hitomi Memorial Hall. The concert stands out for its pristine, almost academic venue acoustics, which forced the Double Trio lineup to perform with absolute, surgical precision. The rendition of the complex “Frame by Frame” borders on technical perfection, while the melancholic “Walking on Air” feels incredibly spacious. Sourced from the original DAT tape, the audio is masterfully balanced, capturing the full frequency range while spotlighting Tony Levin's elastic bass and Bill Bruford's crisp cymbal work. A true audiophile gem.

Collector's Club 1981 Nen 12 Gatsu 14 Nichi Tokyo Asakusa Kokusai GekijyoKing CrimsonCapital's atmosphereThis CD kicks off the run of legendary Tokyo shows at the Kokusai Theater. The performance is highly charged by the capital's atmosphere, with the band unleashing the mathematical precision of their new material with fierce intensity. The live rendition of “The Sheltering Sky” is a major highlight, where Fripp's ambient soundscapes create a truly hypnotic tapestry. This edition boasts a superb frequency balance — Adrian Belew's vocals and wild guitar effects pierce through with absolute clarity without getting buried by the heavy rhythm section.

Collector's Club 1981 Nen 12 Gatsu 15 Nichi Tokyo Asakusa Kokusai GekijyoKing CrimsonThe second night at the Kokusai TheaterThe second night at the Kokusai Theater showcases perhaps the most experimental mood of the entire tour. Having fully acclimated to the capital's stage, the band stretches out the improvisational segments, and Robert Fripp’s Frippertronics soundscapes feel exceptionally bold and expansive. The performance of “Waiting Man” (still unreleased at the time) is staggering, featuring a hypnotic percussive duel between Bruford and Belew. This edition perfectly captures the depth of the venue, carefully preserving the delicate dynamic shifts from stark silence to explosive sonic assaults.

Collector's Club 1981 Nen 12 Gatsu 16 Nichi Tokyo Asakusa Kokusai GekijyoKing CrimsonA true gold standard for live soundA recording of one of the final shows of this landmark Japanese tour. The Tokyo performance stands apart from the Osaka gig with an even tighter, almost aggressive drive from the Bruford-Levin rhythm section. The version of “Indiscipline” sounds gloriously unhinged here, while Adrian Belew’s vocals are packed with theatrical drama. The audio source was carefully restored for the Collectors' Club series, allowing the complex polyphony of “Elephant Talk” to shine in full detail. A true gold standard for early '80s live sound.

Koseinenkin Kaikan, Tokyo, Japan (October 2, 1995)King CrimsonPristine Hi-Fi audio qualityThis double-CD kicks off Wowow Entertainment's official archival series dedicated to the 1995 "Double Trio" Japanese tour. Sourced directly from a soundboard DAT tape, it delivers pristine Hi-Fi audio quality that completely shatters the stereotype of a "muddy" live bootleg. The show is highly notable for its spatial balance: the crushing weight of the Bruford-Mastelotto drum kits never buries the delicate guitar interplay on “Walking on Air.”

The Power To Believe [HQCD]King CrimsonTriumphant return to the top for KCThis Japanese HQCD reissue of the band's final studio masterpiece is an absolute audiophile benchmark. The industrial sonic assault and dense guitar riffs of “Level Five” and “Facts of Life” sound incredibly spacious, avoiding any high-frequency mud. The vast dynamic range brilliantly handles the contrast between aggressive tracks and the ambient sections of the title suite. Collectors will heavily appreciate the flawless mini-LP sleeve replication and the historically accurate OBI strip.

Collector's Club 1981 Nen 12 Gatsu 12 Nichi Osaka Osaka EXPO HallKing CrimsonKing Crimson's rebirthIt's a crucial document of King Crimson’s rebirth as an '80s quartet. The Osaka performance demonstrates how fresh and energetic the material from the newly released “Discipline” felt live. The interlocking, mathematical guitar lines of Fripp and Belew on “Frame by Frame” and “The Sheltering Sky” are executed with flawless precision yet breathe with live intensity. The Japanese mastering perfectly highlights Tony Levin’s tight, elastic bass work. This show is highly prized for its perfect balance between new wave aesthetics, complex polyrhythms, and classic Crimson heaviness.

Collector's Club 1981 Nen 12 Gatsu 13 Nichi Osaka Osaka Mainichi HallKing CrimsonA true gemThis release captures the band's second consecutive night in Osaka, moving to the Mainichi Hall stage. The performance stands out as the musicians sound significantly more loose and adventurous than the previous night. The raw energy on tracks like “Discipline” and “Thela Hun Ginjeet” is off the charts, driven heavily by Bill Bruford's frantic percussion workouts. The Japanese mastering delivers a punchy, well-defined mix where Tony Levin's complex Stick lines remain perfectly legible. A true gem in the tour's chronology, showing how the band reshaped their set from venue to venue.

Nagaoka Yukine First Photobook: Yukine no ne (Miss Magazine 2025 Grand Prix)HIROKAZU, Nagaoka YukineYukine Nagaoka First Photo BookNo surprise that Yukine Nagaoka was voted the top young model in Japan. Even at 17 you can tell that she is going to be a stunningly beautiful woman. The photos are sexy but not too sexy. Gravure modeling is, of course, all about the bikini shots on the beach and those comprise well over half the book. I think she is going to be another Ikumi Hisamatsu. The face, the body, the charm, she has it all. I hope she puts out many photo books in the future.
