Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.) w/ English & Chinese Subtitles [Collector's Edition] 5 Disc Set incl. 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray [Limited Release]AnimationUltimate "Your Name." Experience? Almost
This Collector's Edition for Makoto Shinkai's record-shattering masterpiece, "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)", is a visually stunning love letter to fans, though its bonus features demand Japanese fluency. The inclusion of the film itself on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is the undeniable highlight. Witnessing Shinkai's breathtaking animation – the shimmering comet trails, the intricate details of Tokyo and Itomori, the play of light and water – in stunning 3840x2160 resolution with HDR is transformative. It elevates an already visually spectacular film to new heights. The emotional core, the captivating body-swap/time-travel romance between Mitsuha and Taki, remains as potent as ever, masterfully woven and beautifully scored by RADWIMPS. Both the 4K UHD and standard Blu-ray discs include essential English and Chinese subtitles, ensuring the main feature is accessible to a wide audience. Note: A dedicated 4K UHD player and ideally an HDR-compatible 4K TV are required to unlock this disc's full potential. The packaging is exquisite. The specially designed digipak, crafted by Shinkai himself alongside animation director Masayoshi Tanaka and background designer Akiko Majima, is a work of art worthy of display. The included 100-page book, script book, and stickers significantly enhance the collector's value, offering tangible, high-quality mementos for devoted fans. Crucially, NONE of the substantial content on these three bonus discs includes subtitles of any kind, not even Japanese. As highlighted by a previous reviewer, this severely limits accessibility for international fans who don't speak Japanese. While the main film is fully subtitled, the wealth of behind-the-scenes insights, commentaries, and special features remain locked behind the language barrier. This is a major omission for a "Collector's Edition" marketed internationally and significantly diminishes the value of these discs for non-Japanese speakers. Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars(Docked one star solely for the missing bonus subtitles). A breathtaking presentation of the film and beautiful physical package, ultimately hampered by the inaccessibility of its otherwise excellent bonus features for the global audience.

Tanabe Shin no Figure Zokei Guide (Tanabe Shin's Figure Sculpting Guidebook, By Hand Prototype, Not by Digital Modeling)Tanabe ShinExcellent Figure Sculpting Manual
Beautifully written and translated manual on the basics of figure sculpting using traditional methods by world renown figure sculptor Shin Tanabe. Ample details are generously illustrated in clear step-by-step sections, including how to make your own molds for reproduction of the finished sculpture. Accompanying each step are clear photographs to highlight the sculpting process. Although written in Japanese, the English translations are accurate and on point, making this book a must-have for all serious figure modellers of all scales. Cost price of the book is very reasonable too. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase for the dedicated hobbyist.

Painting the Worlds of Studio GhibliStudio GhibliBackgrounds brought to the foreground
Very expensive and very heavy artbook showcasing the background paintings from Studio Ghibli films. This is one of those books that I decided to buy the moment I knew it existed, damn the cost. I wasn't disappointed. The art featured here is entrancing, but of course you know that if you've seen any Ghibli film. This book provides the opportunity to linger for as long as you want on those incredible images. That's what I wanted. If you watch Ghibli films and think, 'I want to stare at that stunning landscape for ten minutes', now you can.

Yamaoka Naoko Toei Animation PreCure Works (Pretty Cure)Febri Henshu BuPrecure art books always deliver
Another quality Precure artbook. Follows the format of previous volumes in the series of Toei Precure Works. Includes illustration gallery, main character profiles and key frame art. Yamaoka's designs for Healin' Good are gorgeous. Cure Grace especially is one of the loveliest Cures in the series.

Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan -Tsuiokuhen Original SoundtrackAnimation SoundtrackGood 2 hear the existing classics.
Good memories in a package. The show was great regardless of its background. The Director’s Cut is the way to go. I don’t see why it’s not taken over the 4 episode split standard. The same goes for Reflection/Seiso-hen.

When The Wind BlowsAnimationAn evergreen theme
A film about consequence of a nuclear war is an important film in context of the cold war peak in the eighties of last century. The theme is more actual as before.

Stage Play "Touken Ranbu" Kiden Ikusayo no AdabanaTheatrical PlayOne of my favourites
I really like the entire storyline of the abandoned timelines being visited and also the story of the Hosokawa-ke. Really good choices were made in the castings of the historical people and for the first time having a woman starring as a Touken Danshi! I feel that it was really refreshing to have some female actors in the stageplays and although it is a long stage play, it never gets boring. I can highly recommend this.

Stage Play "Touken Ranbu" Koden Amaneku Toki no Haruka eTheatrical PlayAn interesting setting
I really liked this stage play due to it's interesting setting. Chougi and Nikkou are following the individual stories of Oodenta & Sohayanotsugi, then Chatanakiri & Sasanuki and lastly Kogarasumaru and Shichiseiken without really engaging with them until the end for a little plot twist. We also see Oodenta and Sohayanotsurugi's kiwame forms. For those of you who haven't seen the stage yet, it seems that also Chougi is setting out for Kiwame training. Overall it was a very interesting setting to have it divided into parts, but the stage plays have liked to experiment with some other things too.

Buchi Artwork Collection: Soshite Hana ni Naru (KITORA)BuchiAshes Become Flowers and Wings Artbook
One of my favorite art books, the illustrations are very charming and give off a cozy vibe. There's also narrative text accompanying some of the drawings and an interview at the end that were really fun to read, and all the text was written in both Japanese and English.
