[Machine Translation] The British animated film, which caused a worldwide sensation with its depiction of an ordinary couple exposed to the horrors of nuclear war, is now available on Blu-ray for the first time in Japan! The Japanese dubbed version was directed by Nagisa Oshima ("Merry Christmas in the Battlefield"). The main couple is played by Hisaya Morishige and Haruko Kato, who have worked together in TV dramas. --Jim and Hilda are an ordinary couple living in the English countryside. They have lived through two world wars, raised their children, and are now approaching old age. One day they hear on the radio that a new world war is coming and that nuclear bombs are about to fall. Jim follows a government pamphlet and begins to build a shelter. The experience of the last war comes back to them, and they prepare for it by exchanging idle complaints... and then the time comes. The bombs explode, and there is a tremendous heat and wind. Everything is reduced to rubble, but the two survivors follow the government's instructions and start living in a shelter again...
