This release brings the listener back to Tokyo, straight to the stage of the Hitomi Memorial Hall. The concert stands out for its pristine, almost academic venue acoustics, which forced the Double Trio lineup to perform with absolute, surgical precision. The rendition of the complex “Frame by Frame” borders on technical perfection, while the melancholic “Walking on Air” feels incredibly spacious. Sourced from the original DAT tape, the audio is masterfully balanced, capturing the full frequency range while spotlighting Tony Levin's elastic bass and Bill Bruford's crisp cymbal work. A true audiophile gem.
