Description

史上初のナイトレースとなった08シーズン開幕戦。予選ではこれがデビューレースとなるJ.ロレンソがポールを獲得する。更にJ.トーズランド、C.エドワーズと続き、ヤマハ/ミシュランのパッケージがグリッドのフロントロウを占める決勝レース、ホールショットを奪ったのは8番グリッドからロケットスタートを決めたD.ペドロサ。そのまま序盤の数周をリードするが、王座奪回を目指すV.ロッシがトップを奪う。3番手にロレンソ、そして4番手に王者C.ストーナー。タイヤが暖まるとともにアタックを開始したストーナーは瞬く間にトップを奪い、そのままリードを広げて行く。一方、ロッシは次第に遅れ始め、代わってストーナーに続く2位の座を奪ったのはロレンソ。3位にペドロサ、そしてロッシは4位争いにも破れ、5位でのフィニッシュとなってしまう。
