Another great album from the little band from Texas! I love the sound and production that ZZ Top does in the studio. They always made the effort to produce a killer sounding album. Always tinkering around to get different guitar sounds and effects. This one is a little more funkier than earlier albums, but still killer songs. It rocks! SHM-CD sound is great, there's nothing wrong with this album, it's great! Mini LP replica is great and comes complete with inner sleeve replica. Recommended!!

this was the last great zz top record in my opinion, the opening track tube snake boogie is just awesome but i can hear where it gets a little to funky on this record and the production was getting very cleaned up and i did not feel zz top put as much of the hard rockin bluesy energy into this record, this was a great record in 1981 but unlike all the releases in the 70s the times where changing by now and mtv had just got kick started in 1981 so that changed many, many bands sound i can clearly remember, as young as i was back then i remember not fully understanding what was going on with so many rock bands so i ended up embracing more of the uk bands like UFO, STATUS QUO, THIN LIZZY, BUDGIE, NAZARETH, WISHBONE ASH and the more metal bands like SAXON, ANGELWITCH,DEMON,VENOM, MAIDEN, THE FIRST 2 DEF LEPPARD RECORDS, and basically the whole nwobhm scene as most us bands did not seem to have much to offer, anyway this is the best reissue ever on cd of this album, the sleeve replication is PERFECT and exact to the original lp so what you will get here is the best sound ever released of EL LOCO, a lot of zz top fans did love this record but my ears go more for the harder bluesy stuff............
