長唄三味線演奏家・作曲家として数多くの舞踊曲等を作曲し、わが国の創作邦楽の発展に大きく寄与した故東音中島勝祐氏 (とうおんなかじま・かつすけ) の功績を記念した顕彰事業、中島勝祐創作賞。日本の伝統音楽の様式を踏まえた清新な創作作品として選ばれた10回目の受賞作品! 創作邦楽の登竜門の一つである紀尾井ホール (公益財団法人日本製鉄文化財団) 主催の「紀尾井塾」から誕生した新作。上方地歌の持ち味を生かし、手の込んだ手法を軽妙なタッチでさらりと仕上げた楽しい作品。さらに中島勝祐作品2作品を収録。
