「ナイト・バーズ」「インヴィテーション」等の80年代ヒットで知られ、毎年のジャパン・ツアーも恒例となっているシャカタク。2016年『タイムス・アンド・プレイセス』以来の最新オリジナル・スタジオ・アルバムが約3年ぶりに完成。1980年のバンド結成から、40周年となる2020年を直前にむかえての新作アルバム。今作のタイトルになっている"Blue Zone"とは、健康で長生きの人々が居住する世界の統計学地域としても定義されている特別な地域のこと。実際に100歳を越える人々が多い地域でもある。そのトップ2の地域が、ヴォーカルのジル・セイワードが住むイタリア・サルディーニャ島とここ日本の沖縄。バンドにとって特別な2つの地域の共通点としての意味と、バンドメンバー全員がいつまでも永く活動できるように、という想いが込められている。日本盤先行発売。日本盤のみ高音質K2HD+HQCD盤を採用。
