えちごトキめき鉄道は、北陸新幹線開業に伴って信越本線・北陸本線の一部を引き継いだ第三セクター鉄道。主に観光急行として運用されていたのが413・455系「国鉄形観光急行」。妙高高原を出発すると山間区間を駆け下り、スイッチバック駅の二本木を通り、直江津へ到着。直江津からは日本海が一望できるビューポイントでは急行でありながら「急いで行かない」観光列車で乗客を郷愁のひとときへといざなう。映像特典には、413・455系 車両形式紹介/直江津D51レールパーク紹介を収録。
