葬儀屋を舞台とした異色ドラマのサントラ盤。TBSでは2012年1月期の木曜ドラマ9で「最高の人生の終り方～エンディングプランナー～」を放送する。今回のドラマの舞台となるのは警察御用達の「葬儀屋さん」。主人公は、父親を亡くし、ずっと嫌っていた家業の「葬儀屋さん」を継ぐことになった井原屋5代目・井原真人。警察御用達のこの下町葬儀屋さんで扱うものは、いわゆる「訳あり」遺体ばかり。真人は、兄妹と、ひょんな事から知り合う女性新人刑事と共に、毎回遺体と一緒に運び込まれる世間のシビアな現実に立ち向かっていく。就職難・ワーキングプア・詐欺・過労死・居眠り運転・介護殺人・いじめ・自殺・ホームレス問題・貧困ビジネス・相続争い──。様々な理由で亡くなったモノ言わぬ遺体と接するうちに、自分自身の生き方や家族と向き合うようになっていく真人たち。最初はバラバラだった家族も少しずつ一つになっていくことに…。音楽は、TBS系「ROOKIES」、「獣医ドリトル」などヒットドラマの音楽を手掛けている 羽毛田丈史 が担当。
