Description

Live Album Featuring "JOE HISAISHI Future Orchestra Classics vol.7"--A Series That Unveils New Dimensions of Classical Music from a Composer's Perspective This live album captures performances from Joe Hisaishi's renowned concert series Future Orchestra Classics vol.7, in which he highlights new aspects of classical compositions through the lens of a composer. It includes a rare revival of The End of the World, a powerful piece that Hisaishi began composing after being deeply moved by his visit to the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York. This marks the work's first revival performance in nine years, since 2015. Also featured is The Desert Music by Steve Reich--a towering figure in minimal music and one of today's greatest composers. This demanding piece, in its complete original version (1984 full orchestration), had never been performed in Japan in the 40 years since its world premiere. Under Hisaishi's baton, it finally received its long-awaited Japan premiere, earning widespread critical acclaim. Packaged in a digipak. Includes Japanese liner notes. [Performance Credits] Conductor: Joe Hisaishi Orchestra: FUTURE ORCHESTRA CLASSICS Concertmaster: Kaoru Kondo Soprano: Ella Taylor Chorus: Tokyo Mixed Chorus Recording Dates: July 31 & August 1, 2024 Venue: Suntory Hall, Tokyo.
