Synchronicity [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD] [Limited Release]

The new editions sound great but not better then the 2008 SHM releases. This is a good way for those that missed out on the neat mini LP reproductions to catch up. They aren't anything near the old 1989 releases in sound transfers...those are dated and flat.. I don't get that. But they aren't an inprovement to the 2008 stellar transfers to my ears. Just a great sounding CD... Live in Texas

I could hear the original recordings like the album was back in the 80's or was the sound like that. I couldn't remember it was so long ago. a lot of people were complaining about digital and recording studio's messing with the bass or treble of these recordings to pump it up some. even making it louder which sound compressed and not much space for vocal or instruments to sound all that great thru speakers. without the dsd flat transfers version from the original master tapes using hr cutting. I will not buy another cd unless it is a shm-sacd. I agree with tattoo you. it's got no life. I purchased several of these and I loved 5 out of 7. so they all can't be bad sounding.

Horribly disappointed!: I was hoping that the TATTOO YOU debacle was an isolated incident, BUT IT WASN'T. These "Flat Transfers" are absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Why in God's name would I want a DSD HR cutting of the original analogue sound tapes from 1983, WITHOUT IT BEING REMASTERED IN 21ST CENTURY SOUND?! I was under the impression that this was a new cutting of the excellent 2002/3 American remasters by Bob Ludwig that were reproduced in SHM-CD sound in 2008, which are great to experience. BUT THIS IS NOT THAT EDITION! I had even sent a letter to CDJapan, asking (twice!) if these new editions were the same remasters from 2002/3, just bumped up a notch, and I was told that these new editions were 2013 remasters. THEY AREN'T! They sound just like the original CDs from the early 1980s (just as the new Rolling Stones releases)...why in the He*l would I want to pay BIG dollars for a brand new version of the same analogue sound from 1983, when I already have that CD sitting in my music library?! The only reason one wants an old album in the pricey SHM/Blu-spec/HQ/HD format(s) is if the mix was completely remastered and digitized in 21st Century sound, since the new format is from the 21st Century! I don't have any intention of EVER purchasing any releases from CDjapan that are "flat transferred", since they are complete disappointments. Talk about FLAT: The whole sound of these albums' sound flat, w/out any dynamics of sound...no peaks and valleys, no spatial differentiation, no depth, very little clarity, etc., etc. If I had been told that these editions weren't anywhere near as good as the 2008 SHM-CD versions, I would have gone w/ my original plan, and purchased the 2008 lower-priced, jewel-cased SHM-CD version that was re-released a couple of years ago. I really hope that I can exchange this PITIFUL edition for that one, which I've had in my "saved items" box for a while, hoping to get the mini-LP cardboard sleeve version of the same thing, which I missed out on. For example, I purchased the 2008 mini-LP SHM-CD of ZENYATTA MONDATTA from CDjapan, and that album sounds excellent! The sound on that edition is EVERYTHING that this "new edition" (not really new, if you ask me) is not! Word to the wise, fellow audiophiles: These DSD HR flat Transfer edition albums STINK!!! RUN FROM THESE EDITIONS!
