現代のジャズ・シーンの革命児ロバート・グラスパーを中心に、現代ブルーノート・レーベルを象徴する気鋭の若手アーティスト達によって結成されたスーパー・グループ、"ブルーノート・オールスターズ"によるアルバムが全世界同時リリース。アルバムのプロデュースは現ブルーノート・レーベルの社長であるドン・ウォズと、ロバート・グラスパーの二人が担当。アルバムにはロバート・グラスパー (p, key)を筆頭に、アンブローズ・アキンムシーレ (tp)、マーカス・ストリックランド (ts)、リオーネル・ルエケ (g)、デリック・ホッジ (b)、ケンドリック・スコット (ds)といった、それぞれがソロでブルーノート・レーベルよりアルバムをリリースしている現在のブルーノート・レーベルを代表する若手アーティスト達が参加。収録曲はバンド・メンバーのそれぞれのオリジナル楽曲に加え、ウェイン・ショーターの楽曲2曲を収録。そのうちの1曲は1965年にブルーノート・レーベルよりリリースされたウェイン・ショーターの代表作『スピーク・ノー・イーヴル』に収録されている「ウィッチ・ハント」の18分にもなる壮大なカバーで、ウェイン・ショーターのカバーのもう1曲「マスカレロ」は、上記6人のメンバーに加えスペシャル・ゲストとしてウェイン・ショーター本人がソプラノ・サックスで、更に彼の長年の音楽パートナーであるハービー・ハンコックがピアノで参加し、世代を超えたコラボレーションが実現。全11曲収録、CD2枚組で、収録分数も90分におよぶ大作。 ※本商品は金曜販売開始商品のため、商品のお届けは発売日当日以降になります。
