If you're going to put out a box set of U.S. albums, would it not make sense to include the U.S. mixes? I know so many people who would have actually bought this (including myself) if it did include those mixes..a wasted opportunity.

Although the Japanese packaging is of better quality than the U.S. one, the fact remains that most tracks on this set are not the original U.S. Capitol mixes from the 60's.
The box set is made in Japan. The sleeves are of much higher quality compared to the US-made box. The paste over covers are done correctly (paste-over slick on the front), the covers use thicker card stock, and the texture of the paper is correct. Even the "warmness" of the whites is more accurate to the original albums. If these kinds of details matter to you, then this set is absolutely worth the extra $$$ over the US version. It's awesome.
