Don't miss it if you are a fan of world music discovery labels such as Vampi Soul, Strut, Soundway, etc.! Tiger's Milk, the label founded by Martin Morales, a chef, record collector, DJ and former head of iTunes Europe and manager of Ceviche, a Peruvian restaurant in London, UK, has finally released its first compilation. Tiger's Milk has finally released its first compilation! The tracks were selected by Duncan Ballantyne, formerly of Soundway! This compilation, released as a greeting, focuses on the most exciting period of Peruvian Latin/tropical music in the 60's and 70's, when the New York Latin scene was booming with Fania Records at its epicenter, and the Peruvian Latin/tropical music was pushing forward with its own sound. The focus is on extremely rare recordings from the most exciting period of Peruvian Latin/tropical music in the 60's and 70's. This collection is full of the most interesting Latin sounds that evolved beyond the traditional chicha, cumbia, and guaracha to include soul-jazz, rock, psychedelic, and funk music. The psychedelic guitars intertwine with the lively rhythms, and the cheerful choruses pour down, making it impossible not to dance to the excellent Latin numbers that are sure to make you swoon! The compilation includes recordings from important Latin labels such as Dinsa, Infopesa, FTA, Sonolux, and Iempsa, as well as some previously unreleased recordings that were pressed on vinyl and never released. A compilation!
