Ancient Moods Mahollova Mind

[Machine Translation] HAPPY's third album in five years, "Ancient Moods Mahollova Mind" was recorded mostly in the band members' home studio, which was built during the pandemic. As the title suggests, the theme of the album is an exploration of the ancient fascination of the mind and heart, resulting in a new sound with an exotic atmosphere that is uniquely HAPPY, exploring music that has not yet been heard. In addition to their usual instruments, the members themselves play a variety of instruments such as the Taisho harp, lyre harp, bansuri, congas, and djembe, and while maintaining the catchy approach of their previous works, they have expanded their range of expression since their last album. Mastering was done by Timothy Stollenwerk, who also worked on Wooden Shjips and Drugdealer, and the depth and dimension of the sound is greater than before.

HAPPYの5年ぶり3枚目のニューアルバム『Ancient Moods Mahollova Mind』は、パンデミック期間中に作り上げられたメンバーの自宅スタジオで、ほとんどの楽曲が録音されている。タイトルの通り古代へ感じる魅力や心の探求をテーマにしており、まだ聞いたことのない音楽を探求するHAPPYらしく異国の雰囲気漂う新しいサウンドに仕上がった。普段使用している楽器に加えて大正琴、ライアーハープ、バンスリ、コンガやジャンベなど様々な楽器をメンバー自ら演奏し、これまでのキャッチーなアプローチは継承しつつ、前回までの作品から表現の幅が拡大。マスタリングにはWooden ShjipsやDrugdealerなどを手掛けたTimothy Stollenwerkを起用しており、響きの深さと奥行きは以前に比べて増している。
