ジャパニーズ・アンビエント不朽の名作『オシレーション・サーキット』で知られる日本の作曲家=磯田健一郎。そんな磯田が90年代に取り組んでいたのが、Apollonレーベルからリリースされた『マジエルの星』をはじめとする一連のニューエイジ・ミュージック作品群。その淡く美しい世界観はのちに国内外で再発見され、現在では新世代のマスターピースとまで評されているが、そのなかから磯田自身が楽曲を厳選し、現代的制作手法であらためて再録音したものが本作。自らの演奏に加え、サキソフォンの大家である大城正司の演奏、さらには自身でフィールドレコーディングした自然音を追加。聴く人すべての耳にやさしくとけてゆくテクスチャーに包まれた、至高の4曲が完成した。
