Description

This is the new album from a maverick presenting innovative Afro-Brazilian jazz, arriving ten years after the last one! It has been ten years since "O Corpo de Dentro", a work that fused J Dilla's sense of beat, the brass section of RH Factor, the dynamism of Afro-Brazil, and the scale of a large ensemble, and won support across genres. Now Lourenco Rebetez, a maverick Brazilian composer and guitarist, finally releases the new album "Lingua Geral"! Arto Lindsay once again produces, as on the previous album. While carrying on the direction of the previous album, in the vein of Moacir Santos x Letieres Leite x J Dilla x RH Factor, this work shows a pronounced influence from electronic music, leaving an impression of more futuristic textures. In addition, collaborations with elite musicians from outside Brazil, including Jason Lindner, Kassa Overall, Melvin Gibbs, and Big Yuki, have been realized. Even more otherworldly than the previous album, this work points to the future of Brazilian jazz.
