The surround sound is stunning. excellent use of all channels, film is great, the extras are hours and hours of things such as suit making,concept models,story art.Expensive but well worth it in features.Each dvd is packaged seperately in the box. highly recommended.

Description

The movie itself is real good. One of the best Godzilla films in recent years, many fans think it's the best in the last 20 years. Great special effects, great story since the original. Enough said. This box-set is just the icing on the cake. Alot of special features to hold you over after your done watching the film. It might be alittle pricy for Americans like me, but I thought it was worth it. Americans will be sad to hear that theres no English subs, but your should already know that by looking at this page. After getting the Godzilla: Final Wars special edition box-set, and this GMK set, i'm on a quest to get all of the R2 Godzilla releases.
I am as stands, a huge Godzilla fan who is just getting back into the franchise. Having watched over 1500 films to compare to, Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah stacks up in the rank of above average. It has its flaws, but for where the flaws are there is a strong plot. The acting is stale, and the character development is weak, but the screenplay is absolutely magnificent. In this film, Godzilla takes on a new moral regarding modern society forgetting about the Asian holocaust almost 70 years ago. Godzilla represents the collective will to live of the souls who died at that time, and is truly evil. Never have I seen a monster film with the main monster as such an antagonist. Even though Godzilla is portrayed as an antagonist, and Ghidorah the protagonist (often the flip side if youve seen the other films with Godzilla and Ghjdorah), Godzilla is still shown as an animal that actually takes damage rather than brush it off like in most Godzilla films. In overall, if you want a thriller regardless of Godzilla knowledge, at least rent or watch GMK. Obviously,the box is expensive, but the heap of special features will keep you for hours.
