[Machine Translation] The inspiring true story of a man whose dream of becoming a professional boxer was cut short in Japan due to his artificial leg, and his quest to become a professional boxer in the Philippines! Directed by Brillante Mendoza, a master Filipino director who won the Best Director Award at the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival for "Kinatai -Manila Underground-" ('09). The lead role is played by Okinawa-born international actor Shogen! --Nao Tsuyama, who lives with his mother and younger sister in Okinawa, strives every day to become a professional boxer. One thing that sets him apart from others is that he is a boxer with a prosthetic leg who lost his right knee below the knee in childhood. He applies for a professional license from the Japan Boxing Commission, but the commission rejects his application because he does not meet their physical requirements. Unable to give up on his dream, Shosei went to the Philippines to try to become a professional boxer. He is told that if he wins all three of his fights in a tournament for professional boxers, he can obtain a professional license, and Tsuyama, who has a prosthetic leg, can also apply under the same conditions if he undergoes a medical check before each fight. Together with his trainer, Rudy, a boxer with a prosthetic leg, who was closed off in Japan, takes the first step toward his dream in the Philippines, amidst a different set of values and customs.
