Despite his troubles, Assi's ideas are adopted, and Salaam is accidentally promoted to screenwriter. However, as the drama nears its end, Salaam is caught between Assi (Israel) and the production team (Palestine) over the script for the ending, and finds himself in a tight spot. "笑撃"のラストに、世界が大絶賛!! 複雑な中東問題を庶民的な笑いで表現! 知的好奇心を刺激する上質な社会派コメディ! ――エルサレムに住むパレスチナ人青年のサラームは、 パレスチナの人気ドラマ「テルアビブ・オン・ファイア」の制作現場で言語指導として働いているが、撮影所に通うため、毎日面倒な検問所を通らなくてはならない。ある日、サラームは検問所のイスラエル軍司令官アッシに呼び止められ、咄嗟にドラマの脚本家だと嘘をついてしまう。アッシはドラマの熱烈なファンである妻に自慢するため、毎日サラームを呼び止め、脚本に強引にアイデアを出し始める。困りながらも、アッシのアイデアが採用されたことで、偶然にも脚本家に出世することになったサラーム。しかし、ドラマが終盤に近付くと、結末の脚本をめぐって、アッシ(イスラエル)と制作陣(パレスチナ)の間で板挟みになったサラームは窮地に立たされるー。果たして、彼が最後に振り絞った"笑撃"のエンディングとは!?
