Lee Thompson ("The Fortress of Navarone")! --During World War II, persecution of Jews intensifies in Nazi-occupied France. Jewish scientist Bergson (James Mason) and his family plan to escape to Spain. They are assisted by an elderly Basque guide ( Anthony Quinn ). The deep snow and bitter cold of the Pyrenees mountains that stand at the border make the escape extremely difficult for the Bergsons and their old guide, but they are also followed by the Nazi SS (SS) led by their commander von Berkow ( Malcolm McDowell ), who is determined to capture the Bergsons. --The Japanese dubbing of the TV broadcast version (TV Asahi's "Sunday Night Movie Theater" version first broadcast on December 11, 1983) is included!
