One day, a client is murdered by someone just after he and his friends robbed a store. The victim was the son of Victor Basque ( Jordi Morilla ), the leader of the Mexican narcotics union. Nick realizes that Victor will try to kill him as the one who sold the plan, and he takes out a $500,000 life insurance policy on himself for his long estranged daughter Kate ( Hailee Steinfeld ). However, when he learns that Victor is after his daughter's life as well, he takes Kate with him and goes on the run. He kills a police officer who was waiting for him, but he is an associate of Joe Keenan ( Bill Paxton ), a veteran detective who has done all kinds of bad things. Nick is pursued by both Victor and Detective Keenan. Will he and Kate be able to escape safely?
