全世界に警告する! 特効ワクチンの開発と医療利権を巡るウィルスハザード・サスペンス!! 主人公桜子役は、映画やドラマなど幅広い活躍を見せる小西真奈美。そして、天才科学者・紀久生役を窪塚洋介が演じ、柄本明、秋吉久美子、クリス・ペプラー、和田哲史らが脇を固めた豪華キャストが実現! 監督・脚本には『AKIRA』『スケバン刑事』をはじめ、数々の作品を手掛けてきた橋本以蔵。――地球上に存在する200種類にも及ぶ風邪ウイルス。その特効薬が開発されれば世界を揺るがす大発明と言われる。風邪をこじらせた工事現場の作業員・紀久生(窪塚洋介)は、スナックのママ桜子(小西真奈美)に連れられ、ウイルス学の権威である一ノ瀬医師(柄本明)の診察を受け大学病院に入院する。夜中に病室を抜け出した紀久生は、慣れた手つきで自分の唾液や血液を検査し始めた。実は、紀久生の正体は、すべての風邪を完治させる特効薬"風邪(ふうじゃ)ワクチン"の開発に成功した天才科学者で、全てのデータを持って失踪していたのだ。桜子は、ワクチンを手に入れようと暗躍する組織の幹部・道元(クリス・ペプラー)とその右腕・寺子田(和田哲史)の指示で紀久生に近づいていた。一方、紀久生の頭脳に嫉妬し、特効薬発明の名声が欲しい一ノ瀬もワクチンを狙っていた。そして桜子にも、組織のためではなくワクチンを手に入れなければならない理由があった。ワクチンを狙う人々と逃げる紀久生。それぞれの思惑が交差し、夢の特効薬をめぐる攻防の末に待ち受けていた衝撃の真実とは?
