The Last Days On Mars

Directed by Ruairi Robinson, who chose to direct this film over the live-action AKIRA. --On the last day of the first human mission to Mars, one of the crewmembers of the Tantalus base is convinced that he has made an amazing discovery. He had found fossils that provided evidence of the existence of bacterial life. Hoping to avoid having this glory snatched away from him by his rescuers, he defied orders to pack up and set out on an unauthorized search to collect further samples. However, during the excavation, which was supposed to proceed as usual, the permeable ground collapses and he falls into a deep fissure, facing death in a catastrophic accident. Concerned colleagues attempt to locate his body. But when another member of the team disappears, they begin to suspect that the life form they have discovered may not actually be dead yet. As the group falls apart, the rescue ship Aurora, which is close to landing, becomes their last hope.
