What do they discover beyond the chasm between life and death? --Takeuchi (Itakura Toshiyuki) and Abe (Tsutsumishita Atsushi), two failed freelance TV directors, are chasing people who are trying to commit suicide in the Sea of Trees, a virgin forest that stretches like an ocean at the foot of Mt. However, they were not able to do so through the viewfinder of their camcorder. However, as they are exposed to the lives of the people they are covering through the viewfinder of their video camera, they gradually find themselves caught between their consciences as human beings and begin to question and struggle with their own actions. Based on the experiences of TV directors who actually interviewed suicidal people for a special section of a news program, this film was written and directed by Shuya Yamaguchi, who has produced numerous outstanding TV documentaries, and is a moving humanistic drama depicting hope for living despite troubles and suffering.
